Procurement Cycle

The procurement process is cyclical and begins from the correct identification of a need (not a want) and flows through a number of stages which feedback into the next procurement cycle. This process includes:

  • Development of a business case - examining the full cost benefit of options, including Total Cost of Ownership (TCO)
  • Development of a specification - ensuring that ultimately what you get is what you actually need, either in goods or services
  • Selection of the most suitable procurement process - including single tender negotiations where permissible, competitive tendering, bid evaluation and supplier selection if required
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant procurement regulations
  • Assistance with contract development, ensuring the final agreement can be actively managed and will deliver what you expect
  • Active Contract Management and ongoing Evaluation

We will:

  • Help you refine your need to ensure you procure no more or no less than you need.
  • Guide you through the Public Sector Regulations to ensure that you stay compliant.
  • Help you develop tender documentation, including evaluation criteria, or undertake the whole tender process on your behalf.
  • Ensure your contracts can be actively managed, and undertake this vital role for you or provide you with the skills and knowledge to undertake the Contract Management on your own.

Ultimately our aim is to ensure you achieve Best Value through following best practice in all your procurement processes.
